Significant investment in responsible gaming
Paf has once again chosen to lower the mandatory loss limit. At the same time, Paf is introducing a new loss limit for young people aged 18–19. The measures are estimated to cost about 7 million euros annually.
Paf is lowering the annual mandatory loss limit from 20,000 euros to 17,500 euros, which means that no customer can lose more than that maximum limit on Paf’s online games. The loss limit will apply to all game categories and all gaming sites owned by Paf.
“Paf is making its biggest investment in responsible gaming ever. We are adjusting a number of different limits and the overall impact of our measures will make a noticeable difference in our numbers and customer segments,” says Christer Fahlstedt, CEO.
A €7 million investment
The new annual loss limit of 17,500 euros (190,000 SEK) will be implemented and put into effect early summer. Together with other decisive actions being introduced, the measures are expected to cost about 7 million euros.
“We have an opportunity to take another step and improve our commitment to responsible gaming. It’s something we want to do because it’s the right thing to do, if we are to continue our journey to become a sustainable entertainment company,” says Christer Fahlstedt.

Loss limit lowered by 82% for young people
The loss limit for the youngest customers at Paf will be lowered from the current 10,000 euros to 1,800 euros per year, an 82% reduction. The reduction applies to all customers aged 18–19.
“The change further strengthens our RG-focus on young people, which is good because it is in line with the research on gambling problems that says young adults are an extra vulnerable group when it comes to gambling,” says Daniela Johansson, Deputy CEO & Chief Responsibility Officer.
In 2022, Paf implemented a lowered loss limit for young people aged 18–24 of 10,000 euros. The loss limit for young people is now being complemented by a reduction for all persons aged 18–19.
For several years now, Paf has openly published the numbers for customers’ winnings and losses, as well as how different customer segments have developed since 2017. In recent years, Paf has managed to reduce the number of customers playing for larger sums and increase the number of customers playing for smaller sums.
“We will continue to implement responsible gaming measures that improve the numbers in our customer segments. We will set a standard for gaming companies when it comes to responsibility, a standard that other international gaming companies can and should follow,” says Christer Fahlstedt.
