Paf wins award for Responsible Gaming initiatives in Spain
Paf has been named the most responsible gaming company in Spain. It is the first internet gaming company to win the prize. Paf collected the award at the annual responsible gaming conference in Barcelona.
Paf has won an award from Acencas (the Catalan Association of Social Addictions) for its Responsible Gaming achievements at their annual responsible gaming conference in Barcelona 4 of July. Paf is the first online gaming company ever to win this award in Spain.
“The goal of Paf is that our players enjoy playing online. So we take great care of our players’ well-being. Not only that, Paf also allocates 100% of its profits to social projects”, says Cristina Sebastián, Country Manager of Paf.es.
“We are very proud to have been recognized by Acencas, since this award is the demonstration that our Responsible Gaming policy is on track,” adds Liliana Bugallo, Affiliate Manager for Paf in Spain (also seen in the picture).
Paf is the first company in the world to introduce a loss limit per player, which means a reduction in revenue of 5%. Other measures that promote responsible gaming at Paf include the identification of risky behaviors and direct contact with customers to discuss their gaming habits to try to prevent possible problems with their gaming. In fact, in 2018 Paf contacted more than 8,400 players around the world to speak with them about methods of preventing risky behaviour and to help them set voluntary individual limits according to their individual needs.
Paf is a member of Spanish Finance Ministry’s RG board
Paf has been a member of the Spanish Finance Ministry’s Gaming Responsibility Board since January 2019. The Board was founded by the Directorate General for Gaming, which is governed by the Ministry of Finance in Spain. The main task of the Council is to inform and act as an advisory body regarding issues concerning responsible gaming.
“We always strive towards good cooperation with the authorities in all our markets. It is important that the authorities know how we work and that we can get insights into how they view the development of their gaming market”, says Daniela Johansson deputy CEO of Paf.
Collaboration with FEJAR
Paf.es has also signed a collaboration agreement with FEJAR, the Spanish Federation of Rehabilitated Gambling Players, with the aim of exchanging good practices in the field of Responsible Gaming, placing the focus on the prevention of gambling behaviours that could be a risk to the customer.
“At Paf we are aware of the reputation of the sector and the need to work for a society that is free of addictions and, therefore, we are working continuously with the aim of being an honest, transparent and reliable operator with its own internal mechanisms to prevent, detect and support problem behaviours gaming, and thus encourage balanced playing just for enjoyment,” concludes Sebastián.
